Defendant Jerry Jenkins appears before Judge Geraldine with his attorney, Calvin Gerber, and prosecutor Carol Remer-Smith. Jenkins was charged with writing bad checks. He had earlier become well-known in New York when, during what he said was his honeymoon, his car was stolen and driven on a joy-ride, killing one person. New Yorkers felt pity for him until he was arrested for fraud.
