Handwritten notes entitled, "Case Submitted by Mr. Suerll" on Law Department, University of Virginia stationary dated 7 February 1888. The case concerns the following facts: Gibson sold 343 acres too Beaty on 29 July 1869 for $9000. Later, Holmes' heirs won a petition for 80 of those acres valued at $1500. The question is whether the $1500 should be abated from the purchase price of $9000 or the value of the date of eviction.
