The creditors of Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Maclean, of Kinlochaline, proceeded to attach his estate. One adjudication was initiated by George Andrew; a subsequent adjudication was initiated by Henry Butter of Pitlochry. Additional creditors were conjoined in both Mr. Andrew’s proceeding and Mr. Butter’s. However, the common agent objected that the bankrupt act only authorized creditors to be conjoined in the first adjudication. After some creditors argued that Mr. Andrew’s adjudication not actually the first, an additional objection was raised to the conjoined creditors in that proceeding.
