Blitz, a large white German Shepherd, was the mascot of the Virginia Rugby Team and, according to the VLW, was "probably the only dog ever to appear in the Barrister as a graduating senior." Blitz was struck by a car in February of 1972 and passed away a few days later. His owner, Ralph B. Robertson, was a graduate of the class of 1971.
