Handwritten letter from  Sir Anthony Brutus Babington, a Judge of the Court of Appeal in Norther Ireland, to Col. Robert Bard, enclosing the Writ of Assize which granted Babington the authority to hear cases during the Spring Session of 1944.  The letter also contains Babington's reflections on American courtroom tactics.  Dated 20 May 1844.
