Negotiation scene during the 1980 Essex County Jail siege, in which nearly 100 inmates took over two floors in the jail and held several guards hostage. During negotion scenes, inmates wrapped white towels over their heads and shouted obscenities through broken windows. Eventually a settlement was reached and the hostages were released.
