Biographical / Historical Note

Edward O. McCue, Sr., Class of 1896, practiced law in Charlottesville for many years. His son, Edward O. McCue, Jr., Class of 1926, was a member of the Virginia State House of Delegates and State Senate. He in turn had a son, Edward O. McCue III, Class of 1955.

Scope and Content

This small collection contains three documents belonging to two generations of McCue's that attended UVA Law School. The first is a progress report from the University of Virginia Law Department that belonged to Edward O. McCue, Sr., dated March 1, 1896. It details the absences, progress, and conduct of each student every month. His professors included Minor, Lile, Gilmore, and Dabney. The second document belonged to Eward O. McCue, Jr., and is a receipt of payment, dated June 19, 1926, from the Virginia State Board of Law Examiners. The third and final document is an Exam Identification Card signed by Edward O. McCue, Jr.
