Abstract

WWII incomplete of daily newspapers published in Tokyo, during the American occupation: 1946 -1951.

Scope and Content

This collection comprises an incomplete set of the Nippon Times (1946-1951) and some issues of the Pacific Stars & Stripes (1946-1951). It consists of single issues and of bound volumes of the Nippon Times. Some of the bound volumes were disbound. January, April-June of 1946 are missing.

The library received very few issues of the Pacific Stars & Stripes. Some of these in very fragile condition.

Acquisition Information

This collection was donated by Christopher Kolawoski, Director of the MacArthur Foundation in 2019.
