    Biographical / Historical

    John Nieto (1936-2018) was a painter of Hispanic and Native American ancestry whose subjects included wild animals and Native Americans, often painted in bright colors.

    Immediate Source of Acquisition

    Professor Richard Merrill gave this collection of five prints to the University of Virginia Law School Library in April of 2009.

    Existence and Location of Originals

    The prints and books are on display in Leslie Ashbrook's office.
